It’s hard to explain how I can have such high regard for someone who week after week leaves me feeling like she took a baseball bat to various parts of my body.
I started training with Melody S. about a month and a half ago, and it’s been a great experience from the beginning. The first time we met up, it was for a complimentary assessment. Melody asked what I hoped to achieve through training with her, put me through some exercises to see what I could do and where she needed to focus my workouts, and then spent time talking to me about nutrition.
Well, that was the easy part…since then, she’s put me through the wringer, pushing me harder than I thought I was possible, and still making me laugh while doing it (as opposed to wanting to kick her in the shins.) She has a great sense of humor and she’s incredibly encouraging. She never pushes me past my breaking point, but she never goes easy on me, either.
One of my favorite things is that every week is different: she’s had me boxing, working out with weights, using machines, and doing aerobic exercise. It’s definitely never boring, and every week, a new part of my body is sore and aching the day after my workout.
In addition, after each session, she massages out the knots that I inevitably have all over my neck and back from work and life stress. She has a unique style that makes me moan in pain (seriously, it sounds like a porn shoot in the gym sometimes) but leaves me feeling so much better after she’s done. She’s even walked on me!
The personal attention and relationship that we’ve established have made it much easier for me to be motivated than I ever was when I had a gym membership. Melody has given me useful knowledge about nutrition and exercise that I can continue using to do more on my own. If you’re in the area and looking for a trainer, I recommend her without reservation.
